This is a problem for me because I have a thing for hitting really big puddles (horray for driving a beater!) but I try not to break my car, and around here (NW PA) there are potholes most of the way into the Earth's mantle.

I had yet another reminder that the Niva needs better tires last night. And also that I need to clean my headlights... I hit a particularly bad pothole at ~30mph, and the bounce triggered a spin that went into the (thankfully empty) oncoming lane, and then I overcorrected and went over the curb on my side of the road at about 140° to my original direction of travel. Short wheelbase = sideways, fast.
